No Más Basura - Here’s what’s happening at No Más Basura: The next NMB Garage Sale will be on May 4 at the Community Garden “Los Girasoles,” located behind the tortillería. Please start gathering your clean and used items for donation. Donations can be dropped off daily between 7am and 6pm at Casa Clara, a yellow house with a wooden gate, to the right of Casa Verde on C. Salome Lucero. Everything deserves a second life. There will be no recycling on Wednesday, April 17 due to Semana Santa operations. The next recycling day will be Thursday, April 24 from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Recycling Center. Thank you for your understanding and support.
During Easter weekend, we expect many beach visitors. On the busiest days, we will be launching our Semana Santa Operation, providing trash bins (for plastics too!), trash bags, and portable bathrooms along the bay. Let’s help minimize pollution by encouraging visitors to dispose of their waste properly. If you would like a portable bathroom in your area, please contact us. You can also find out how to support this operation through our Facebook and Instagram posts. We are still looking for panga owners to help out on Saturday!

The New Bajamians - (you may know them from Dead Guy & Friends) are bringing your favorite cosmic rock, dusty Americana, and Grateful Dead tunes to the sands of Pólvora this Wednesday April 16. Cetacean Monitoring Tour - Join our upcoming scientific cetacean monitoring tour in La Ventana, organized by Aguacea Explora and the scientifics of MMAPE. On the agenda: actively searching for marine life, helping biologists with collecting valuable data for their ongoing research (photographic identification, behavior, morphometrics, acoustics and more), learn from passionate people from the sea & marvel at beautiful wild encounters! When: April, Thursday 17th, Monday, 21st & Thursday, 24th – seems to be no wind days! What : around 6 hours at sea. Small groups for better participation.
