Baja Night Sky - Spring's first full moon -- a micro moon -- will rise around 6:40 pm Saturday. A micromoon occurs when the full moon is at its furthest point from Earth in its orbit, making it appear smaller and fainter than usual. Tom at BajaNightSky@gmail.com

LaVESTA - The Assembly of the Ejido of El Sargento and Su Anexo La Ventana approved our proposal for the creation of a Parque Ejidal de Senderismo (Ejido Trail Park). We are very grateful for this vote of confidence, and this is a great step because it shows that we do have a path to try and conserve some of our best trails. Truth is though, we still have a lot of work to do. We need to actually write a contract, agree on all the terms of it, and get that formally approved by the Assembly. Also, we will need to collect money from this community to provide an economic incentive for the Ejido to agree to voluntarily put their land into conservation, and create an endowment fund to store the money in.
All of the steps will take some time, and some of them will require your help. We humbly ask you to follow us and support us on this journey that we hope will make our community stronger, will create a beautiful park, and will allow all of us to enjoy the trails for many years to come... No Más Basura - The next NMB Garage Sale will be the 3rd of May at the Community garden Los Girasoles located behind the tortilleria. Please start gathering your used/clean goods for donation. We are accepting donations at Casa Clara, a yellow home with a wooden gate, to the right of Casa Verde from 7am-6pm every day! Located on C. Salome Lucero. Everything deserves a second life.
Bring your recyclables to the Recycling center this Thursday from 8-10 am sharp! We accept the following; all Plastics (including caps!), Glass Bottles (broken too!), Aluminum cans, Metals (including metal caps), Packaging Styrofoam, Batteries, Cork, Cigarette Butts (in DRY PET bottle), and 5 gallon water jugs!! T-Shirts! We have T-shirts! NMB and Baja Beach Blues Concert T-Shirts!! All donations are much appreciated. There will be no recycling on the 17th of April due to Easter Weekend - Semana Santa Operation.
During Easter Weekend we have many visitors camping out on the beach. On the busiest of days we implement our Semana Santa Operation, where we will be providing bins for waste, trash bags and portable bathrooms along the bay. Let´s minimize the contamination by inviting our visitors to put their waste where it belongs. If you would like a portable bathroom in your area, please contact us!
